Super CE Weekend to offer hundreds of continuing ed hours

Danville Area Training Center is hosting its 8th Annual Super CE Weekend in February. This three day training event will allow dozens of EMTs to earn hundreds of continuing education hours in a variety of topics, from Stroke Management and Fire Scene Standbys to Human Trafficking and Drone Technology.

Members from all agencies are invited to participate in training on February 8, 9 and 10 at no cost. Each day will run from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and will be broken down into one-hour segments. All classes begin on the hour and last for 50 minutes.

“Last year’s event was a success with 45 – 65 participants in each session. We hope to have even more participants this year,” Tommy Pruett, DATC executive director, said.

Participants should bring their EMS card with barcode so that their CE hours can be scanned into the system after each completed course. National Continued Competency Requirements (NCCR) will be offered for EMT Recertification. All topics will cover objectives from the EMT and ALS curriculum.

Students participate in an exercise where they must properly remove gear during a cardiac arrest scenario.
