Heat Wave Safety Tips

With temperatures soaring into the 90's, be sure to stay safe in the heat. Paramedic Jim Mullins discusses how to cool down and prevent heat related illnesses. Check out his heat wave safety tips in the video below. 

 

Additionally, keep these ideas in mind as you try to beat the heat:

  • Slow down, stay indoors and avoid strenuous exercise during the hottest part of the day

  • Postpone outdoor games and activities when temperatures are dangerously hot

  • NEVER leave children or pets alone in enclosed vehicles, they can die from heat exposure

  • If you don't have A/C, find indoor activities, such as a library, mall or movie theater
