When are EMT classes/training classes held?

The Danville Area Training Center (DATC) offers a Rescue Academy once a year to provide all needed EMS certifications. Additionally, the DATC offers an Advanced EMT class each Fall semester. CPR, ACLS and PALS are offered throughout the month. For a training schedule, visit www.datc.training.

 

Can I volunteer even though I'm not EMT certified?

The Danville Life Saving Crew has several ways to volunteer even without an EMT certification. They have an observer program which allows anyone (16 or older), once passing the Virginia State Police background check, to ride along 2 times per month up to 6 times per calendar year. 

 

There is also an Auxiliary program which allows citizens in the community to help the DLSC by volunteering with different DLSC functions and fundraisers. The Auxiliary is a great support staff to the membership of the DLSC.
