Members Win Big at VAVRS Convention

On September 26, 2018, ten Danville Life Saving Crew (DLSC) members traveled to Virginia Beach for the Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squad's 84th Annual Convention. While at the convention, members participated in seminars, meetings, competitions and events.

During the awards ceremony, DLSC was awarded 1st place Promotion of Safety, 1st place Rescue Call of the Year, 1st place BLS Call of the Year and 4th place BLS Competition.

DLSC was recognized for the safety measures it takes throughout the year to ensure that the community stays informed on weather and health safety tips. DLSC accomplished this through social media posts, articles, videos and flyers. DLSC was also recognized for completing the best rescue call and basic life support call of the year in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

"We are proud of our organization for winning four trophies at convention," DLSC Chief Robbie Woodall said. "We are grateful to be recognized for our hard work and dedication to the Danville community."

DLSC continues to strive to provide the best possible pre-hospital care to community members in all emergency situations.
