When the seasons change, many people suffer from seasonal allergies. As springtime approaches and flowers begin to bloom, pollen and allergens fill the air. To help combat this allergy season, follow the tips below:
Wash your bedding every week in hot water and vacuum carpets frequently to reduce allergens in your home
Take a shower and wash your hair each night because pollen easily accumulates in hair
Use a dehumidifier to keep moisture out of the air
Wear a dust mask when working outside
Keep doors and windows closed as often as possible, at home and in the car
If these tips do not help you feel significantly better, consult a doctor. Do not call 9-1-1 over allergy related issues. Instead, visit your primary care doctor or an urgent care facility if your symptoms are severe.
