Golf Classic Raises Funds to Save More Lives

On August 10, 2017, the Danville Life Saving Crew held its 18th Annual Golf Classic at Goodyear Golf Club. A total of 29 teams played during the five hour tournament.

After a catered luncheon, teams took off to their playing spots with a shotgun start. Players competed to hit a hole in one to win prizes, such as a brand-new Chevrolet from Woodall Chevrolet, a one carat diamond from Ben David Jewelers and a side-by-side from Triangle Cycles. M.H. Herndon hit the only hole in one of the day, winning the diamond from Ben David Jewelers.

The top three teams were announced during DLSC's dinner ceremony. The team with the best net score was GM Financial and the team with the best gross score was Quality Construction. During the awards ceremony, players also had the opportunity to win door prizes, such as a Reactor watch, gift cards a chainsaw and car wash kits that were donated by generous local businesses.

The Crew is grateful to everyone who participated in the Golf Classic. Funds raised for the event will be used to save more lives in the community.
