Extrication Team

This highly trained team responds with two pieces of apparatus.  One of the pieces being a medium duty crash truck that was built by Emergency-ONE (more commonly known as E-ONE) and is mounted on a Freightliner FL-80 chassis.  This apparatus carries the basic equipment to handle the average motor vehicle crash involving passenger cars and light to medium sized trucks and equipment.  This vehicle is housed in our main building located on Christopher Lane.

The team was recently fortunate enough to add a new Heavy Rescue crash truck to its tool box.  This piece of apparatus is a 2011 Spartan / Hackney Heavy Rescue Truck.  This Heavy Rescue apparatus is equipped to handle some of the most complex of motor vehicle crashes which may involve everything from normal passenger vehicles and small pieces of equipment to large pieces of equipment such as tractor trailers and rail road cars.  With the vehicles on our roadways changing every day, we must adapt our equipment to handle this new technology.

One prime example of this changing technology is the addition of a rescue tool specifically designed to be used on hybrid or electric vehicles.  With the danger of being electrocuted while extricating on these electric vehicles exists; we counter this risk by using this new tool which is designed to absorb an electric charge should one occur.  This Heavy Rescue truck replaced our light duty rescue truck which was purchased by Ringgold Volunteer Fire & Rescue.
